Sleaford Trailers is an authorised Bateson dealer serving Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and the wider East Midlands. We supply the full range of Bateson beavertail trailers, transporters, and fixed-bed trailers with a sloped rear section that brings the deck down close to ground level. Most models also come with loading ramps as standard, making it easy to drive or winch vehicles and machinery on and off without the steep approach angle of a standard flatbed. We carry stock trailers ready to go and can order any model in the range to suit your needs and budget.

Why Choose a Bateson Beavertail Trailer?
Every Bateson beaver tail transporter is built to the same standard as their wider range, backed by nearly a century of manufacturing experience:
- Fully hot-dip galvanised — no painting, no rust, just long-lasting protection
- Fitted with Avonride independent rubber suspension — smoother towing, better stability, less maintenance than traditional leaf spring setups
- Built to European Whole Vehicle Type Approval — a certificate of conformity comes with every new trailer
- Backed by an excellent UK spares department — parts available even for older models, which matters when you’re running a trailer for 15–20 years
With five models in the beaver tail transporter range, from a lightweight single-axle unit to our largest 16′ trailer, there’s a size to suit almost any load.

Beavertail Transport Trailers – Frequently Asked Questions
What is a beavertail trailer?
A beavertail trailer is a fixed-bed trailer with a sloped section built into the rear of the deck, so the back end angles down towards the ground. This lets you drive or winch vehicles and machinery on and off without the steep ramp angle you get with a standard flatbed trailer, making loading low vehicles, plant and machinery much easier.
What Bateson beavertail trailers do you sell?
As an authorised Bateson dealer, we supply the full beaver tail transporter range: the 1325 single axle, 264B, 265B, 354B and 355B. We carry stock trailers ready to go and can order any model in the range to suit your needs and budget.
Do you sell used or ex-demo beavertail trailers?
Occasionally, yes. Availability of used and ex-demo Bateson beavertail trailers changes regularly, so call us on 01529 462188 to check current stock, or ask about ordering a new one direct from Bateson.
Can I order any Bateson beavertail model?
Yes. As a Bateson dealer we can order any model in the beaver tail transporter range, even if it’s not shown here, and add optional extras where available. Call us to discuss your requirements and lead times.
What size beavertail trailer do I need?
It depends what you’re loading. Our 1325 single axle suits light plant and grounds equipment, the 264B and 265B handle mid-size machinery and 4x4s, and the 354B and 355B step up in length and payload for larger vehicles and plant. Call us and we’ll help you match the right model to your load.
Do you sell hydraulic tilt beavertail trailers?
Yes, but as a separate range. Bateson’s hydraulic tilt trailers (including tilt deck and tri-axle models) tilt the whole platform hydraulically rather than having a fixed sloped beavertail section. We can supply these too — call us to discuss which type suits your loading needs.
Can I hire a beavertail trailer instead of buying one?
These beaver tail transporters are sale models. If you only need a trailer for a short job, take a look at our trailer hire options — just call us to check availability and pricing.
How much does a Bateson beavertail trailer cost?
Prices vary by model and specification, so we don’t list prices online. Call us on 01529 462188 for an up-to-date price for the model you’re interested in.
Are Bateson beavertail trailers road legal?
Yes. All models are supplied with the required road lights, auto-reversing brakes, jockey wheel and spare wheel as standard, and are Type Approved for use on UK roads.
