Ramp-loading trailers built to carry mini excavators and tracked machinery, with a full-width gas-assisted ramp door as standard.
26MD Mini Digger, Plant & Excavator Trailer — 2,600kg
Designed to carry a mini excavator up to 2,100kg, or a 1.5-tonne excavator with extra buckets and attachments. The heavy-duty, hot-dip galvanised chassis has integral welded tread-plate mudguards you can stand on, and an extended drawbar with a raised bucket carrier keeps the digger boom clear of the tow vehicle. Fitted with a full-width, gas-strut-assisted ramp door suitable for all machine types including rollers, with load-securing eyes welded along the chassis and mudguards. A spare wheel and carrier is available as an option. Gross weight 2,600kg, unladen 500kg, carrying capacity 2,100kg.
35MD Mini Digger, Excavator & Plant Trailer — 3,500kg
Our largest ramp-loading digger trailer, built to transport tracked machines up to 2,775kg within the 3,500kg maximum trailer weight. The one-piece, hot-dip galvanised chassis has solid steel sides for securing heavy machinery, and comes without a spare wheel as standard to keep unladen weight down and maximise payload. Fitted with a full-width, gas-assisted ramp door suitable for all machine types including rollers, an extended drawbar with raised bucket carrier, and a lockable 50mm ball coupling. Gross weight 3,500kg, unladen 725kg, carrying capacity 2,775kg.
Hydraulic Tilt Plant Trailers, For Scissor Lifts & Low Ground-Clearance Machines
Instead of a ramp, these models tilt hydraulically so the deck lowers to a very shallow approach angle, ideal for scissor lifts, sweepers and other low ground-clearance plant that can’t cope with a steep ramp.
26TP Hydraulic Tilt Plant Trailer — 2,600kg
Designed to carry access platforms and low ground-clearance machines up to 2 tonnes. The galvanised body has a hydraulic tilt and a spring-assisted ramp door with a feathered edge for an especially shallow loading angle. Gross weight 2,600kg, unladen 510kg, carrying capacity 2,090kg.
35CP Hydraulic Tilt Plant Trailer — 3,500kg
A 16′ x 5′ hydraulic tilt trailer designed for access platforms and similar machines up to approximately 2,700kg. The hydraulic tilt gives a very low approach angle, and having no ramps avoids the tracks ‘rocking over’ onto the platform during loading. Fitted with full road lights, amber side markers, a heavy-duty ribbed jockey wheel and load-securing points along both sides. Gross weight 3,500kg.
35TP Hydraulic Tilt Plant Trailer — 3,500kg
A 10′ x 5’6″ plant trailer designed to carry scissor lift platforms and similar low ground-clearance machinery up to around 2,750kg, with a super-low approach angle of less than 10 degrees. The fully welded, hot-dip galvanised chassis has an 18mm phenol-coated plywood floor with aluminium tread plate to spread point loading, and the feathered ramp tailboard has support legs. An electric winch with battery and remote control is available as an option. Gross weight 3,500kg, unladen 795kg, carrying capacity 2,705kg.

What’s the difference between ramp-loading and hydraulic tilt plant trailers?
Ramp-loading models (26MD, 35MD) use a full-width ramp door and are well suited to tracked machines that can climb a ramp under their own power. Hydraulic tilt models (26TP, 35CP, 35TP) lower the whole deck instead, giving a much shallower approach angle — this is essential for scissor lifts and other machines with very low ground clearance.

Do plant trailers need a special driving licence?
It depends on the combined weight of your tow vehicle and trailer, and when you passed your test. Most car licences (category B) allow towing up to a maximum authorised mass of 3,500kg for the outfit, but older or category B+E licences have different limits. Check the GOV.UK guidance on towing a trailer for the rules that apply to you.
What’s the maximum weight a plant trailer can carry?
Bateson plant trailers go up to a 3,500kg gross weight, with a carrying capacity of around 2,700kg to 2,835kg depending on the model and configuration. Anything heavier than 3,500kg combined trailer and load weight requires power braking, needs to be added to an operator’s licence, and must have an annual HGV test.
